At 8am people met at the Murray Marsh natural area for the Northumberland county Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas kick-off gathering. Nice catching up with people and birding. Highlights were fresh bear tracks, Northern Waterthrush singing and a Sandhill Crane. The gathering was however cut short by the report of a White Wagtail in Barrie!!. I quickly said the meeting was over and Myself and two others raced to the wagtail and happily got it. The wagtail was very far off but nice scope views could be had. What an absolutely stunning bird and an insane rarity.
