Presquile Spring birds - Travelling Photographers group

May 21 2023

The group met at 8am at the park gate and we headed to beach one where the group had good looks of several shorebirds. 2 Piping Plovers, 10 Semipalmated Plovers, 25 Dunlin and others, were seen and some of the birds were cooperative and people were able to get some shots of them, I however was too busy pointing birds out and didn't take many photos.

After the beach we went to the lighthouse. Migration was slow and there was not a lot of warbler diversity or numbers. There were however, lots of Yellow Warblers and Baltimore Orioles. Purple Martins were at their usual spot at their nest houses were nice to see. We then headed to Calf Pasture where there was a greater number and diversity of birds. Some warblers and orioles were putting on a show in the blossoming apple trees. At noon I ended the trip, but a few people decided to stay and do some solo photographing in the afternoon.
